Results of Municipal Supervision and Spot Check on Product Quality of Plugs and Sockets for Household and Similar Purposes in 2023

In 2023, the 2nd batch of the city sampled a total of 21 batches of plug and socket products for household and similar purposes, of which 21 batches were in circulation.

This spot check is based on GB/T 2099.1-2008 Plugs and Sockets for Household and Similar Purposes Part 1: General Requirements; GB/T 2099.1-2021 Plugs and Sockets for Household and Similar Purposes Part 1: General Requirements; GB/T 2099.3-2015 Plugs and Sockets for Household and Similar Purposes Part 2-5: Special Requirements for Converters; GB/T 2099.7-2015 Plugs and Sockets for Household and Similar Purposes Part 2-7: special requirements for extension cord sockets and other standard requirements, marking of plug and socket products for household and similar purposes; dimensional inspection; protection against electric shock; grounding measures (if applicable); insulation resistance and electrical strength (if applicable); aging resistance, protection and moisture resistance provided by the shell; flexible cables and their connections (if applicable); heat resistance (if applicable); creepage distance, electrical clearance, and position through sealant (if applicable); temperature rise (if applicable), etc. are inspected.

This spot check found that three batches of products from three sellers, namely, East China Lighting Wholesale City in Yangxin County, Lou Xiansheng Life Supermarket in Beihai New District and Hardware Store in Binzhou Economic Development Zone, did not meet the requirements of relevant standards. The unqualified items were size inspection, signs, temperature rise, flexible cables and their connections.

For the sellers of unqualified products found in this spot check, Binzhou market supervision and Administration Bureau has instructed the relevant market supervision and administration departments to do a good job in handling the unqualified results in accordance with the product quality law of the people's Republic of China, the Interim Measures for the administration of product quality supervision and spot check, as well as the relevant provisions of the State Administration of market supervision and administration and Shandong Provincial Market Supervision Administration on supervision and spot check.
